Description
A vulnerability exists in the Smart Install feature of Cisco IOS Software, allowing an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via crafted TCP packets to port 4786. This issue affects Cisco Catalyst Switches.
Recommendations
For Cisco IOS versions 12.2 through 15.1, update to a newer version that addresses this vulnerability.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Smart Install feature until a patch is available.
