Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (device reload) via crafted image list parameters in Smart Install packets. Affected devices that are configured as Smart Install clients are vulnerable.
Recommendations
For Cisco IOS versions 12.2 and 15.0 through 15.3, update to a version that addresses this issue, as Cisco has released software updates that fix the vulnerability.
As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Smart Install client feature until a patch is available.
