Description
The issue allows local users to execute arbitrary commands. This is achieved by leveraging eDirectory POSIX attribute changes to insert shell metacharacters in the MKDQUOTESAFE function within the Fan-out driver scripts in Fan-Out Platform Services.
Recommendations
For Novell Identity Manager version 4.0.2, consider restricting access to the MKDQUOTESAFE function to prevent arbitrary command execution until a patch is available.
