OS X versions prior to 10.12
Description
The issue is related to the Date & Time Pref Pane component mishandling the .GlobalPreferences file. This allows attackers to discover a user's location via a crafted app. The vulnerability can be exploited by a remote attacker using a specially created application.
Recommendations
For OS X versions prior to 10.12, update to version 10.12 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Date & Time Pref Pane component to minimize the risk of exploitation.
