Description
The issue is caused by improper validation of URLs for the Developer Portal, allowing a remote attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the system. By crafting a malicious URL, an attacker could exploit this to execute arbitrary commands on the system with the privileges of the www-data user.
Recommendations
For IBM API Connect version 5.0.6.0, consider restricting access to the Developer Portal until a fix is available, and ensure proper validation of URLs to prevent arbitrary command execution. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the Developer Portal feature until a patch is available.
