Description
The issue allows attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted .jb2 file. This is related to "Data from Faulting Address controls Branch Selection starting at ntdll 77400000!RtlGetCurrentDirectory U+0x000000000000016c."
Recommendations
For XnView Classic for Windows version 2.40, consider avoiding the use of crafted .jb2 files until a fix is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the opening of .jb2 files in XnView Classic for Windows to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
