Description The issue concerns a hard-coded password used to protect the SMI-S service. A remote user who knows this password could potentially disable the SMI-S service by sending HTTP requests, which would impact storage management and monitoring functionality via the SMI-S interface. This issue only affects Windows installations of the Data Collector.

Recommendations For versions prior to 16.3.20, update to version 16.3.20 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the SMI-S service to minimize the risk of exploitation.
