Description
The issue concerns the update and package-installation features, which do not verify X.509 certificates from SSL servers. This allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof servers and trigger the execution of arbitrary code via a crafted certificate.
Recommendations
For MODX Revolution versions 2.5.4-pl and earlier, update to a version that verifies X.509 certificates from SSL servers to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks.
