Description
The issue allows attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service via a crafted .fpx file. This is related to a "User Mode Write AV starting at FPX!FPX GetScanDevicePropertyGroup+0x0000000000007822."
Recommendations
For IrfanView version 4.44 (32bit) with FPX Plugin 4.46, consider avoiding the use of crafted .fpx files until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the FPX Plugin to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
