Description
The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, which may lead to an application crash, via a crafted RLE file. It may also have unspecified other impact.
Recommendations
For XnView version 2.45, consider avoiding the use of RLE files until a patch or fix is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the handling of RLE files to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
