Description
The issue is related to a possible out-of-bound write in the BTA HdRegisterApp function of bta hd api.cc due to a missing bounds check. This could lead to local escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.
Recommendations
For Android versions prior to Android-9, update to Android-9 or a later version to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the BTA HdRegisterApp function until a patch is available.
