Facebook Thrift versions prior to 2019.02.18.00
Description
The issue allows malicious clients to send short messages that take a long time for the server to parse, potentially leading to denial of service. This occurs because C++ Facebook Thrift servers using cpp2 do not error upon receiving messages with containers of fields of unknown type.
Recommendations
For Facebook Thrift versions prior to 2019.02.18.00, update to version 2019.02.18.00 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
