Description A heap-based buffer overflow could allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code via a UTF-8 line from server containing characters outside of the Basic Multilingual Plane (BMP).

Recommendations For Xchat-WDK versions prior to 1499-4, update to version 1499-4 or later to resolve the issue. For xchat version 2.8.6, consider disabling the handling of UTF-8 lines from servers until a patch is available.
