Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the
ml-ioh GPIO driver where the register lock uses spinlock t instead of raw spinlock t. The ioh irq type() function, acting as the irq chip .irq set type callback, is invoked while the caller holds desc->lock (a raw spinlock t) with hard interrupts disabled. In PREEMPT RT configurations, a standard spinlock t is an rtmutex-backed sleeping lock, making its acquisition in a non-sleepable context invalid. This same lock is used by ioh irq enable() and ioh irq disable() callbacks, which are also invoked while desc->lock is held. The lock is also used to serialize GPIO direction/value callbacks and suspend/resume register operations, all of which perform non-sleepable MMIO register accesses.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
