Description An issue exists in the snapshot page() function where the system reads the page 2 field after verifying that nr pages is greater than 1, whereas it should only occur when nr pages is greater than 2. If an order-1 folio is allocated at the end of a vmemmap section, page 2 does not exist, and attempting to read it causes a system fault. This was observed during DLPAR memory removal on a 22 TB ppc64le LPAR, where the function triggered an oops on the page isolation path by reading from an unmapped vmemmap in an adjacent absent section.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
