Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A kernel page fault occurs during probe failure or rollback in the Linux kernel. This is caused by the Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) nature of devres teardown, where the aperture devres node is registered after the DRM device node. Consequently, the
devres release all() function unmaps the aperture before the DRM device release callback amdgpu device fini sw() is executed. This leads to a failure when IP sw fini callbacks, such as vcn v4 0 sw fini(), attempt to write to fw shared using a pointer derived from the aper base kaddr variable.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
