Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A failure during system resume in the ALSA usb-audio component can render the sound card unusable until the system is rebooted. This occurs because the
usb audio resume() function jumps to an error path that skips the restoration of the D0 power state and fails to decrement the num suspended intf variable. Consequently, the card remains in the SNDRV CTL POWER D3hot state, causing subsequent control access attempts to block in the snd power ref and wait() function. This issue can be triggered when snd usb pcm resume() or snd usb mixer resume() fails, such as when a device stalls a SET CUR request or through failures in the scarlett2 init notify() hook.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
