Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description An AB-BA deadlock occurs when a NAT keepalive worker races with Security Association (SA) deletion. This happens because the nat keepalive work() function iterates through the state table while xfrm state walk() holds the net->xfrm.xfrm state lock lock, and the subsequent callback acquires x->lock. This sequence conflicts with the deletion path in xfrm state delete() and xfrm state delete(), which acquire the same locks in reverse order. An AB-BA deadlock is a synchronization issue where two different threads are blocked waiting for each other to release locks, causing the system to hang.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
