Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
An issue exists in the arm64 architecture for Renesas ironhide where inline ECC carveouts are not properly described as reserved memory. The DBSC5 DRAM controller uses specific areas of DRAM for inline ECC (Error Correction Code) operations. Because these areas are within the DRAM address range but are not reserved, the system may access or modify them during periods of high DRAM utilization. This can lead to the corruption of memory used by the DBSC5 DRAM controller, resulting in system instability.
Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
