Description
The SMUX module contains a flaw where the
smux accept() function performs an unauthenticated blocking read without a timeout on newly accepted connections. A remote unauthenticated client can connect to the SMUX listener and send no data, which causes the single-threaded snmpd main loop to block indefinitely and suspend all SNMP processing, resulting in a denial of service.Recommendations
Update Net-SNMP to version 5.9.5.3 or later.
