SpecterOps Skills: Ready-Made Skills and Agents for AI-Assisted Security
Tools2026-09-04, 12:04
SpecterOps has introduced SpecterOps Skills, a public repository of reusable skills, plugins, and agent definitions for AI-assisted security workflows.
The idea behind the project is to turn practitioners' hands-on knowledge into structured workflows for AI: what to inspect first, which references matter, where human approval is required, and how to verify the result.
The repository contains:
• 26 plugin families — packaging related skills and supporting material for specific workflows or practice areas.
• 79 skills — focused instructions, references, scripts, and examples for specific tasks.
• 22 reusable agent definitions — describing specialized roles such as researcher, code reviewer, report writer, or BloodHound analyst.
They cover security research, reconnaissance, application security, code review, reverse engineering, adversary simulation, BloodHound analysis, C2 extension development, Windows/macOS tradecraft, reporting, and infrastructure operations.
The same material can be used through Codex and Claude Code plugins, while individual skills can be installed through the
npx skills ecosystem. External systems such as BloodHound, Ghostwriter, Binary Ninja, and Ghidra remain explicit dependencies when required by a workflow.SpecterOps treats the repository as a maintained software project rather than a static prompt library. Active plugins have explicit ownership and lifecycle status, while changes are checked for metadata consistency, broken internal references, portability issues, secret exposure, unsafe repository structure, stale generated files, and provenance of packaged executable artifacts.
A key principle is practitioner-led contributions: AI may help draft a skill, but the resulting material must be reviewed and owned by someone who understands the domain.
SpecterOps also frames the broader approach as “context design is interface design”: an AI agent's effectiveness depends not simply on how many tools it can access, but on providing the right context, references, workflow guidance, and criteria for successful completion.
In effect, SpecterOps Skills packages security tradecraft into portable, reviewable workflows for AI agents while keeping practitioners responsible for the decisions that matter.
