Description
The issue is related to improper memory allocation for copies from user mode in the Windows kernel-mode drivers. This allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted application. An elevation of privilege vulnerability exists in the way that Windows kernel-mode drivers improperly allocate memory when copying data from user mode. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could run arbitrary code in kernel mode, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full user rights.
