Description An elevation of privilege issue exists due to the way Windows kernel-mode drivers manage pointers to kernel-mode driver objects. This allows local users to gain privileges via a crafted application that triggers a NULL pointer dereference. An attacker who successfully exploited this issue could run arbitrary code in kernel mode, enabling them to install programs, view, change, or delete data, or create new accounts with full administrative rights.
