Description
The issue is related to a buffer overflow in the SMB implementation of the Mac OS X kernel. This can be exploited by a local attacker to gain elevated privileges or cause a denial of service, resulting in memory corruption.
Recommendations
For OS X versions prior to 10.11, update to version 10.11 or later to resolve the issue.
