Description The issue allows for man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks due to arcanist downloading resources over HTTP. This could potentially lead to remote code execution (RCE) if an attacker intercepts the connection and swaps the requested resources with a malicious version. An attacker with a privileged network position could exploit this by replacing the executable downloaded by arcanist with a malicious one, resulting in code execution on the system running arcanist.

Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability. As a mitigation measure, consider avoiding the use of this package until a patch is available. Alternatively, reduce the risk of exploitation by avoiding installation of this package while connected to a public network.
