Description The issue arises from the plugin's failure to validate and escape some of its shortcode attributes before outputting them back in a page or post where the shortcode is embedded. This could allow users with the contributor role and above to perform Stored Cross-Site Scripting attacks.

Recommendations For Companion Sitemap Generator WordPress plugin versions 4.5.1.1 and earlier, update to a version that addresses this issue. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
