Description
The issue is related to insufficient input validation in the InnoDB component of Oracle MySQL Server. This can be exploited by a remote attacker to cause a denial of service, resulting in the ability to hang or crash the MySQL Server. The attack can be performed via multiple protocols, and successful exploitation can lead to unauthorized control over the server.
Recommendations
For versions 8.0.37 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
For versions 8.4.0 and prior, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue.
As a temporary workaround, consider restricting network access to the MySQL Server to minimize the risk of exploitation.
