Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel has been resolved, related to the RDMA/core component. The issue occurs when registering a new DMA MR after selecting the best aligned page size for it. In certain circumstances, the total size of the aligned pages needed to cover an sg entry can be greater than or equal to 4GB, causing a counter overflow. This can lead to an infinite loop inside the iterator function. The vulnerability is related to the
sglist and page size, and the counter responsible for counting the advancement from the start of the sg entry is of type u32, which overflows when passing a size of 4GB.Recommendations
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
