Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel contains a flaw related to the handling of stack protectors during the boot process. Specifically, the issue arises from discrepancies in the stack canary values when calling boot init stack canary without the no stack protector function attribute. This can lead to a call to stack chk fail() and subsequent system panic. The fix involves utilizing the no stack protector attribute for callers of boot init stack canary unless compiled with -fno-stack-protector.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
