Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Linux kernel (affected versions not specified)
Description The Linux kernel experienced an issue where memory allocation failed for the exFAT file system due to system memory fragmentation. This occurred when using kmalloc array and kfree, particularly with pluggable devices like u-disks. The issue was addressed by switching to kvmalloc array and kvfree, which do not require continuous physical memory. The problem manifested as page allocation failures during the mounting of exFAT file systems. The call stack indicates a scenario in the Linux 4.19 kernel.
Recommendations At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
