Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Essential Widgets plugin for WordPress versions up to and including 3.0

Description The Essential Widgets plugin for WordPress is susceptible to Stored Cross-Site Scripting. This is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes within the plugin’s ew-author, ew-archive, ew-category, ew-page, and ew-menu shortcodes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages. These scripts will execute when a user accesses the injected page.

Recommendations Update Essential Widgets plugin to a version later than 3.0.
