Description An issue exists due to insufficient access control in the firmware of certain Intel Ethernet Connection E825-C devices. A system software adversary with privileged user access and a high complexity attack may be able to cause a denial of service. This could occur via local access without requiring special internal knowledge or user interaction. The issue impacts the availability of the system. The vulnerable component is an exposed ioctl.

Recommendations Update the Intel Ethernet Connection E825-C firmware to version 3.84 or later.
