Linux · Linux Kernel · CVE-2025-39848
**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** Linux kernel (affected versions not specified) **Description** The Linux kernel contains a flaw in the `ax25 kiss rcv()` function where input skbs are not properly checked for sharing before being queued or manipulated. This can lead to `skb->dev` becoming NULL, resulting in a crash within ` netif receive skb core()`. Prior to the fix, this issue could cause bugs or corruptions without a major crash. This issue is similar to a previously resolved problem in `phonet rcv()` addressed by commit 7aaed57c5c28. **Recommendations** At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
