**Description**
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists due to a wrong check on the input packet length in the `babel packet examin` function in `babeld/message.c`. This issue may allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code.
**Recommendations**
For versions through 8.1.0, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the `babel packet examin` function until a patch is available.
At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
