**Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions** Firefox ESR versions prior to 68.10 Firefox versions prior to 78 Thunderbird versions prior to 68.10.0 **Description** The issue is related to errors in the certificate authentication procedure, which could cause add-ons to become out-of-date without user notification. This occurs when certificate chains terminating in non-built-in roots are rejected, even if they were legitimately added by an administrator. The exploitation of this issue may allow a remote attacker to disable installed add-ons. **Recommendations** For Firefox ESR versions prior to 68.10, update to version 68.10 or later. For Firefox versions prior to 78, update to version 78 or later. For Thunderbird versions prior to 68.10.0, update to version 68.10.0 or later.
