Linux · Linux Kernel · CVE-2024-36944
Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions: Linux kernel (affected versions not specified) Description: The vulnerability is related to a circular locking dependency between the console owner locking and the worker pool locking in the Linux kernel's drm/qxl component. This issue can cause a system to hang or timeout during boot up. The problem is associated with the `qxl fence wait` function. Reverting a specific commit allows the system to boot to completion again, although it may result in "[TTM] Buffer eviction failed" messages. Recommendations: At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
