Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Cisco Unified IP phones versions 8961, 9951, and 9971
Description The issue concerns weak permissions for memory block devices in the firmware of the affected phones. This weakness allows local users to gain privileges by mounting a device with a setuid file in its filesystem.
Recommendations For Cisco Unified IP phones versions 8961, 9951, and 9971, consider restricting access to the setuid files in the filesystem to minimize the risk of exploitation. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
