Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Cisco IOS versions 12.2 and 15.0 through 15.3
Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, specifically a route switch processor outage, via crafted IP packets. This is due to an issue in the Kailash field-programmable gate array (FPGA) versions prior to 2.6 on RSP720-3C-10GE and RSP720-3CXL-10GE devices. The vulnerability could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause the route processor to reboot or stop forwarding traffic.
Recommendations For Cisco IOS versions 12.2 and 15.0 through 15.3, update to a version that includes the fix for this issue, as software updates have been released by Cisco to address this vulnerability.
