Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Advantech WebAccess versions prior to 7.2
Description The issue is related to a stack-based buffer overflow that allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code. This is achieved by providing a long AccessCode2 argument.
Recommendations For versions prior to 7.2, update to version 7.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the webvact.ocx module to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using long AccessCode2 arguments in the affected API endpoint until the issue is resolved.
