Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Cisco IOS versions 15.0 through 15.4 Cisco IOS XE versions 3.3.xSE through 3.3.1SE, 3.3.xXO through 3.3.0XO, 3.5.xE through 3.5.1E, and 3.11.xS through 3.11.0S
Description The issue is related to a memory leak in the Cisco IOS Software implementation of the multicast Domain Name System (mDNS) feature when processing malformed mDNS packets. This could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition, resulting in memory consumption, interface queue wedge, or device reload.

For Cisco IOS XE versions 3.3.xSE through 3.3.1SE, update to version 3.3.2SE or later. For Cisco IOS XE versions 3.3.xXO through 3.3.0XO, update to version 3.3.1XO or later. For Cisco IOS XE versions 3.5.xE through 3.5.1E, update to version 3.5.2E or later. For Cisco IOS XE versions 3.11.xS through 3.11.0S, update to version 3.11.1S or later.
