Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions Wireshark versions 2.2.0 through 2.2.5
Description The issue arises when the DOF dissector in Wireshark enters an infinite loop. This can be triggered by either packet injection or a malformed capture file. The problem was addressed by modifying the epan/dissectors/packet-dof.c file, specifically by utilizing a different integer data type and adjusting a return value.
Recommendations For Wireshark versions 2.2.0 through 2.2.5, update the epan/dissectors/packet-dof.c file to use a different integer data type and adjust the return value to prevent the infinite loop issue.
