Description The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in invalid memory access and a crash, by providing a crafted BMP image. This is due to a problem in the findnext function in decompose.c.

Recommendations For potrace version 1.13, consider avoiding the use of crafted BMP images to prevent the denial of service. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
