Description: A vulnerability in the Cisco Fabric Services component could allow an unauthenticated, remote attacker to cause a denial of service (DoS) condition on the affected device. The vulnerability exists because the affected software insufficiently validates Cisco Fabric Services packets. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a crafted Cisco Fabric Services packet to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to force a NULL pointer dereference and cause a DoS condition.
Recommendations: For all affected devices, update to the latest software version that addresses this vulnerability. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the Cisco Fabric Services component until a patch is available. Avoid using the Cisco Fabric Services component in configurations where it is not necessary until the issue is resolved. There are no workarounds that address this vulnerability, so updating to the latest software version is the recommended course of action.
