Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions serde cbor crate versions prior to 0.10.2
Description An issue in the CBOR deserializer can cause stack consumption via nested semantic tags, allowing an attacker to craft small CBOR documents that cause a stack overflow. The flaw was corrected by limiting the allowed number of nested tags.
Recommendations For versions prior to 0.10.2, update to version 0.10.2 or later to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting the use of the CBOR deserializer to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid using the CBOR deserializer with untrusted input until the issue is resolved.
