Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions
rConfig version 3.9.5
Description
The issue allows a remote authenticated attacker to traverse directories on the system. This can be achieved by sending a crafted request to the "ajaxGetFileByPath.php" script, which contains hexadecimal encoded "dot dot" sequences (%2f..%2f) in the
path parameter, enabling the attacker to view arbitrary files on the system.Recommendations
For rConfig version 3.9.5, consider restricting access to the "ajaxGetFileByPath.php" script until a patch is available. As a temporary workaround, restrict the use of the
path parameter in the affected script to minimize the risk of exploitation. Found an issue in the description? Have something to add? Feel free to write us 👾
