Name of the Vulnerable Software and Affected Versions D-Link DAP-1860 firmware version 1.04B03
Description This issue allows network-adjacent attackers to execute arbitrary code on affected installations. Authentication is not required to exploit this issue. The specific flaw exists within the uhttpd service, which listens on TCP port 80 by default. The issue results from incorrect string matching logic when accessing protected pages. An attacker can leverage this issue to escalate privileges and execute code in the context of the device.
Recommendations For D-Link DAP-1860 firmware version 1.04B03, as a temporary workaround, consider disabling the uhttpd service until a patch is available. Restrict access to TCP port 80 to minimize the risk of exploitation. Avoid accessing protected pages using the affected uhttpd service until the issue is resolved. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this issue.
