Description
A Privilege Escalation issue exists in the installer of McAfee Total Protection, allowing local users to manipulate symbolic links and redirect file operations to unintended files, thus changing files that are part of write protection rules.
Recommendations
For versions prior to 4.0.161.1, update to version 4.0.161.1 or later to resolve the issue.
