Description: The issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service, resulting in a service crash, by sending a long string in the HTTP Referer header.

Recommendations: For Synchronet BBS version 3.16c for Windows, consider restricting access to the HTTP service until a patch is available, or limit the length of the HTTP Referer header to prevent service crashes. At the moment, there is no information about a newer version that contains a fix for this vulnerability.
