Description A vulnerability has been identified in the affected application, which contains an out of bounds write past the end of an allocated structure while parsing specially crafted NEU files. This could allow an attacker to execute code in the context of the current process.

Recommendations For Simcenter Femap V2020.2, avoid using the application to parse NEU files until a patch is available. For Simcenter Femap V2021.1, restrict access to NEU file parsing functionality to minimize the risk of exploitation. As a temporary workaround, consider disabling the NEU file parsing feature in both versions until a fix is provided.
