Description An improper neutralization of input during web page generation may allow an unauthenticated remote attacker to perform a reflected cross site scripting (XSS) attack in the captive portal authentication replacement page. This issue is related to 'Cross-site Scripting' [CWE-79].

Recommendations For FortiOS versions 7.0.5 and prior, update to a version later than 7.0.5 to resolve the issue. For FortiOS versions 6.4.9 and prior, update to a version later than 6.4.9 to resolve the issue. As a temporary workaround, consider restricting access to the captive portal authentication replacement page until a patch is available.
